Byron-Brentwood-Knightsen Union Cemetery District is a property tax and fee-supported agency that provides efficient and dignified burial services, year-round maintenance, and preservation of interment plots. (Note: Interments are restricted to residents who pay taxes into the Cemetery District boundaries.)

Rules and Regulations

The Union Cemetery District rules and regulations are subject to change by the Board of Trustees' approval. The District Manager has the authority to make decisions per individual circumstances. Governance

The Byron-Brentwood-Knightsen Union Cemetery District is governed by a three person Board of Trustees. Board Members are appointed by the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors. The District lies primarily in the Third Supervisorial District, while a small portion of it lies within the Fifth Supervisor’s District. Each Trustee serves a four-year term. Hours of Operation

The District Office is Open Monday-through-Friday from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm, by appointment only, The office is closed most holidays.
